Samuel Schulman, my great-grandfather, came to the US from modern day Belarus (Russia at the time) in 1910. He came with his six brothers, and they settled in Decatur, Alabama.

Flora Frank was already living in Decatur. Flora and Sam got married and moved to Nashville, Tennessee, where they raised my grandfather and his three brothers during the Great Depression.
