Mom's Side

Solomon Erdreich had nine children (my great-great grandfather Max and his siblings), seven of whom came to Selma and the surrounding towns in 1884. The two that stayed behind in Bohemia perished at Treblinka during the Holocaust.

Max lived in Orrville, but was a member of the congregation in Selma. Unlike the Jews whose boats had been diverted, Max and his family had come into New York, but then gone to Selma because Solomon's brother in law was already living there.
